NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for tourist arrivals in Israel from the United States in July and august. The country received 78,000 tourists from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022 that's an increase of 13% from 2019. Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He said, It's so exciting to again see an increase of tourism to Israel from the United States, and already in the process of surpassing or exceeding the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019. The United States has been our largest destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak we had record figures of the number of tourists entering Israel every month. Canada is not far behind that of the United States of America, is on track for surpassing the tourist numbers to Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,000 in tourists in August. Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it's so exciting to witness the way that tourism in Canada is booming. We aren't too far from our record numbers for 2019, and we are anticipating that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain confident about travelling abroad. Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international tourists in the year 2019 including 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they're vaccination-free. The country has already hosted more than 600,000.
